Tuesday – Nov 10/20 – Further Update on Health Screening for workers for all PSIs in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health regions

Late Monday the PHO updated their website regarding Workplace Safety in the Lower Mainland – hopefully this latest update makes implementing the PHO’s expectations easier for your PSI.

The website can be found here and the updated information reads as follows:

Workplace safety

Employers must review and redouble their efforts on their COVID safety plan, remind employees to monitor themselves daily and to always stay home if they have symptoms.

  • Workplaces must ensure that all workers and customers maintain appropriate physical distance and wear masks when appropriate
  • Extra care should be taken in small office spaces, break rooms and kitchens

Daily screening

A daily screening should already be included in every business’s existing COVID-19 safety plan.

It will be up to each PSI to determine how best to implement this workplace safety advice from the PHO.

Daily self assessment is covered on page 10 of the Go-Forward Guidelines.

Rather than actively screening each employee, implementation may simply be increased reminders to your employees during this two week period regarding self monitoring and to use the self check app – COVID-19 BC Support App and Symptom Self-Assessment Tool.
